Welcome to Williamsburg Elementary Physical Education! My name is Mr. Graham and each week you can see the activities that our students were engaged in as well as many of the resources I used in my teaching. I put out these weekly posts for parents to see what their child is learning in PE as well as for other PE teachers to get ideas they can implement in their own program.
Overview of the Week
With only 3.5 days of school this week and some classes also gone on field trips, I decided to do some "free choice" stations with the kids. This was our first free choice experience of the year and students LOVED it! On a free choice day, students are in charge of their own learning. They decide how they want to be active be choosing what they want to do and how long they want to do. So if they have one favorite station activity and want to do that the entire time, they can. If they have several things they want to do, they manage their time to allow themselves the opportunity to do everything they want. Ask your student what the 3 rules of free choice day are. Hopefully they say something along the lines of 1. BE SAFE, 2. BE ACTIVE, and 3. HAVE FUN!
