Welcome to Williamsburg Elementary Physical Education! My name is Mr. Graham and each week you can see the activities that our students were engaged in as well as many of the resources I used in my teaching. I put out these weekly posts for parents to see what their child is learning in PE as well as for other PE teachers to get ideas they can implement in their own programs.
Williamsburg Families...Come Volunteer in P.E.
Next week, March 20-24, you are invited to come to P.E. to help with the conclusion of our jump rope unit! We'll need volunteers to help turn the long jump rope or count consecutive jumps for students using a short jump rope. If you're interested, CLICK TO SIGN UP. If the class/time you want to come is already filled, just show up. We still have lots of classes without helpers. I never turn away willing volunteers!!
Overview of the Week
This week our students continued with our jumping unit. Grades K-2 used a hula hoop to perform a variety of jumping tricks while students in grades 3-5 used a long jump rope. I was out Thursday & Friday this week, but my substitute carried on the long rope with the older kids while the younger students played a game called "High Rollers" that utilized dice and the concepts of greater than, less than, and equal. Our Healthy Habits at Home Challenge focused on FAMILY this week as students were encouraged to go for a 20-min walk with anyone in their family!
