Welcome to Williamsburg Elementary Physical Education! My name is Mr. Graham and each week you can see the activities that our students were engaged in as well as many of the resources I used in my teaching. I put out these weekly posts for parents to see what their child is learning in PE as well as for other PE teachers to get ideas they can implement in their own program.
Overview of the Week
This week our students learned about their heart and lungs and how they work together to keep up alive! Students participated in the Heart Adventure Obstacle Course which is a life size working model of the heart. Students act as red blood cells picking up oxygen from the lungs and carrying it into the left side of the heart where it gets pumped around the body to all our body parts. After we use up our oxygen, we have a waste product (carbon dioxide) that must be pumped through the right side of the heart and back to the lungs to get rid of the carbon dioxide and to pick up oxygen and start the cycle over.
