Welcome to Williamsburg Elementary Physical Education! My name is Mr. Graham and each week you can see the activities that our students were engaged in as well as many of the resources I used in my teaching. I put out these weekly posts for parents to see what their child is learning in PE as well as for other PE teachers to get ideas they can implement in their own programs.
Overview of the Week
We NEED volunteers in P.E. next week! Students will be jumping rope to earn various belt colors based on the number of consecutive jumps they perform. We need adults to count for any students who want to "test" for a belt. This eliminates students waiting in a long line for me to watch them and keeps them accountable for an accurate jump count. This week, students in grades 3-5 continued in our jump rope unit using long ropes. Students were taught cues for both turners and jumpers and practiced jumping from a stationary start as well as entering a moving rope. Our K-2 students focused on some scooter activties this week. They explored how to ride on the scooter in a variety of ways and they connected scooters together with a partner to try some cooperative scooter activities! Our Healthy Habit at Home focused on food with a nutrition challenge to eat a salad with at least 3 different vegetables.
