Our 4th & 5th graders had one lesson this week working on passing for accuracy using an activity called "Soccer with the Champs." The second day, students go to participate in a small-sided lead-up soccer activity called "4-Corner Soccer." This game utilized a variety of soccer skills in a game situation.
Our third graders began this week working on passing for accuracy and trapping with "Soccer with the Champs" and then lots of foot dribbling keeping the ball close and under control with "ABC Soccer" and "Soccer Minefield."
Our focus this week was on controlling the ball and keeping it close while dribbling with our feet. We used a variety of activities designed to get students exploring dribbling the ball with all different parts of the foot.
Our kindergarten students got a chance to work with scooters again on Wednesday. We connected the scooters and took turns working in cooperative groups riding and pushing our partners around the gym. Friday was another "free choice" station day where students got to choose how they wanted to be active at a variety of activity stations. They did a great job being self-directed learners and staying on task throughout the class. They shared equipment and space and did a great job being safe. Ask them which stations they participated at today!
