Our 5th graders got a chance to visit the Chicago Bulls/Sox Academy located in Lisle. They participated in four stations designed to teach students about the importance of health, nutrition, fitness, and being physically active! Check out the video below which shows some of the highlights of our trip and our students in action.
If you are a parent of a student in grades K-3, I'd love to have you come volunteer to help get skating gear on/off the kids. We skate for 3 weeks starting on January 29th. So if you are interested in helping out on your child's P.E. day, click HERE to select your availability. I never turn away willing volunteers!
Congratulations to Mrs. Furnish's 1st graders who worked hard during the month of November on their expected behaviors and had the highest positive behavior percentage in the school! Together they earned a total of 119 positive points and demonstrated excellent behavior all month long. Keep up the great work!
Recently I had the privilege to share my passion for Physical Education with a panel of PE teachers from around the country. The opportunity presented itself in a Q&A session in the form of a podcast interview. Jorge Rodriguez (Texas) is the creator of the Global #PhysEd Voxcast and together with Erik Meyer (New Jersey) and Dave Carney (Florida) we discussed my views of the profession for about an hour. The time flew by and I was able to answer a wide range of questions from how I got started in the field and my teaching philosophy to technology integration, advocacy for the profession and how being a "connected" educator has changed the way I teach. If you want to learn more about me as a #PhysEd professional, give it a listen!
