I just had my 2nd of 10 blog posts published by GOPHER this month! February's topic was entitled "From Storage to Layout, Make the Most of Your PhysEd Space." This blog post was a supplement to the LIVE webinar event that I hosted this month. If you'd like to read more about organizing your storage space and maximizing your instructional area, you can find the blog post here: www.gophersport.com/blog/physed-teaching-space/ Please leave a comment or question and I'll be sure to get back to you!

I am excited to be hosting a LIVE webinar for GOPHER on February 21st at 3 pm CST entitled "From Storage to Layout, Making the Most of your #PhysEd Space." I will be sharing how to maintain a functional and organized storage area for your PE equipment and show you tons of pictures of storage solutions. You will be able to check out pictures of awesome storage rooms from PE teachers all over the USA & Canada. There will also be lots of great DIY solutions and storage hacks too!
The second half of the webinar will focus on how to set up your gym/teaching space into specific areas/zones that help students transition smoothly from the various parts of your lesson - entry/exit, activities, instruction, and assessment. Having specific areas these take place within your space make your lessons "flow" more easily and allow you to get the most out of every instructional minute. We will be taking a look into some great gyms and see how various PE teachers create their classrooms! Click on either of the graphics above to register for this FREE event! For additional information, click here We’ve partnered with Raging Waves Waterpark in Yorkville to promote physical activity outside of the school day and reward students for their efforts! Students will log the time they spend being active on a log sheet (30 minutes per square). Once all the squares are full, (25 total hours), students should write down a few examples of what they did to be active and then have a parent sign it. Once the sheet is complete and has a parent signature, return it to school and you will get a voucher good for a FREE child’s admission to the waterpark in the month of June or you can redeem it for $10 off any other time this summer!
Program begins February 9th and will conclude on April 9. No late entries will be accepted. Tickets will be sent home with students by the end of April.
